G. Gordon Liddy, mastermind of the famous Watergate scandal in American history, died on Tuesday. He was 90 years old. He died at his daughter's home in Virginia. The reason for his death has not been revealed. However, his son Thomas Liddy has stated that he did not have a Kovid-19.
Liddy, a former FBI agent and military veteran, was convicted of conspiring in the Watergate robbery and illegal wire-tapping. Liddy spent four years and four months in prison, with more than 100 days in isolation. He then became a radio talk show host. His show was very controversial, due to which he became very famous. Lyddy also worked as a security consultant, writer and actor.
Significantly, the then President Richard Nixon had to resign after the Watergate scandal surfaced. To win the election, he had assigned some people to spy on the Watergate Hotel Complex, the office of the National Committee of the Democratic Party. It is believed that this was Lyddi's idea.
